On the 15th of July 1410 the largest battle of medieval Europe took place in the plains near Grunwald in the North of Poland. Among the nearly 60 thousand people fought guests from many countries invited by the Teutonic Order: the Germans, knights from contemporary Latvia and Estonia, Austrians, Swiss, Dutch, English and French. The Polish-Lithuanian kingdom opposed them with their own inhabitants which were Polish, Lithuanians and Russians, but also with their allies: Tatars, Moldovans and Czechs. The military campaign of the 1410 was a technological breakthrough, involving both western and eastern tactics. The Poles were the first in Europe to use the pontoon bridge for military purposes.

The big celebration of the anniversary is prepared mainly by Poles and Lithuanians. In July several museums will be opened and many monuments commemorating the victory of the Polish king Jogaila, the Grand Duke of Lithuania and other famous knights will be unveiled. In many Polish cities a giant picture presenting the Grunwald events is being displayed. Along the route where the allied forces marched the new tourist tracks are set, numerous historical festives, fairs, marches, rallies and races are organized. The Lithuanians have started the production of the great historical film called „The Day of Iron”. Its engagement in the commemoration announced also Belarus, whose government increasingly frequently refers to the historical heritage of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, which for 5 centuries covered the territory of the country. Poland, Lithuania and Belarus are going to emit occasional coins and stamps.

In the celebration of this great anniversary participate Polish scouts, who have for two years conducted an innovative online educational project: historical strategic game, in which participants take the roles of medieval knight families. For July the scouts prepare a great international jamboree with numerous games and workshops and a tourist rally inspired by Live Action Role Playing games, including solving historical puzzles and mysteries.

The culminating point of the celebrations will be the international ceremony held on the battle-field of Grunwald (near Olsztyn, the region of Warmia-Mazury) honoured by the participation of the presidents of several countries and appealing to the audience with the great reconstruction of the battle, in which more than 2000 participants dressed in armour and costumes from the Middle Ages will be watched by nearly 200 000 spectators. A few days later an equally impressive reconstruction of the siege of the teutonic capital – the castle of Malbork (Marienburg) is being planned. It is worth noting that the Malbork castle is the largest and one of the most striking gothic castle in the world.

Країни Центральної та Східної Європи в липні будуть святкувати шестисоту річницю Грюнвальдської битви - історичної події, яка за кілька століть вирішило долю цього регіону. Реконструкцію битви буде дивитися 200 тисячі глядачі з багатьох країн.
15 липня 1410 поблизу Грюнвальда сталася найбільша битва середньовічної Європи. У числі 60 тисячі воїнів були гості Тевтонського ордена - відмінні лицарі з багатьох країн: Німеччини, теперішньої Латвії та Естонії, Австрії, Швейцарії, Нідерландів, Англії і Франції. Проти нього Польське королівство виставило не тільки тих що проживають в ньому Поляків, Литовців і Русинів, а ще війська своїх союзників: Чехів, Молдаван і Татарів.
Бойові дії 1410 це теж технологічний перелом - перший раз Поляки використовували міст з понтонів, щоб перейти Віслу.
Велике святкування готують перш за все Поляки і Литовці. У липні будуть відкриватся багато музеїв і пам'ятників польського короля Ягайла, Великому литовському князю Вітівтові та іншим славним лицарем. Багато польських міст показують гігантську картину - панораму Грюнвальдської битви. На маршруті об'єднаних військ 1410 виникають нові туристські маршрути, здійснюють багато історичних пікніки, походи, пробіги і велогонки. Литвини почали реалізацію історичного філм \ "День заліза \". Свою участь у святкуваннях оголошує теж Білорусь, котра все частіше звертається до спадщини Великого князівства Литовського, в яке за 5 століть входила територія цієї країни. Польща, Литва і Білорусь випускають монети і марки з нагоди.
У святкуванні цієї важливої річниці беруть участь також польські харцери. Вони вже два роки готують сюрприз - історичну стратегічну гру. Гравці беруть роль середньовічних лицарських пологів. У липні харцери організують великий інтернаціональний з'їзд. Там буде не тільки багато ігор та тематичних занять, але ще буде туристський пробіг в типі Live Action Role Playing, де учасники будуть вирішувати історичні таємниці та загадки.
Кульмінацію святкувань буде міжнародне торжество на полі битви поблизу Грюнвальда (недалеко Ольштина, регіон Вармії і Мазур). В урочистостях брали участь президенти декілька країн. Розвагою для майже 200 тисяч глядачів буде реконструкція битви з понад 2 тисячею б'ються в обладунках та історичних костюмах. Кілька днів після битви відбувається так само є вражаючий реконструкція облоги Мальборка - цей замок найбільший пам'ятник готичної архітектури в світі.
